Deutsche Land rejects Prostar deal after further talks

11 February 2009

German real estate company Deutsche Land has once again rejected the terms of a possible offer for the company by Prostar Germany, which is headed by Deutche’s co-founder and former director, Jonathan Elkington.

Deutsche rejected a 15p per share indicative offer made last November, which it claimed was “inadequate”. Prostar had complained that its was struggling to access due diligence on Deutche’s portfolio in order to firm up its offer price.

Further meetings between the two sides this week appear to have dampened the mood even further at Deutsche. Prostar indicated that “subject to due diligence, it does not currently expect that its offer would be at a price lower than 8p per share”.

Having already rejected the indicative offer of 15p per share, Deutsche dismissed Prostar's proposals for not being in the best interests of shareholders.
