Dawson International agrees possible sale of Todd & Duncan business

Wednesday, November 19, 2008

Cashmere and bed linens business Dawson International has agreed a deal over the possible sale of its Todd & Duncan cashmere yarn spinning business to Ningxia Zhongyin Cashmere Co.

Dawson said the deal was still contingent on due diligence and contractual negotiation and there was no certainty that the agreement would lead to a sale.

Zhongyin is a major supplier of high quality cashmere fibre to Todd & Duncan. In the event of the transaction being completed, Zhongyin has indicated that it is committed to maintaining the existing Scottish manufacturing base, its workforce and the integrity of Todd & Duncan's market leading product quality.

Last year Todd & Duncan manufactured 300 tonnes of cashmere yarn and had net operating assets at December 29, 2007, of £17.5 million.
