DM buy-out shelved as credit markets dry up

DM, the direct marketing group specialising in customer recruitment and database management, has had hopes of a private equity backed management buy-out dashed by terrible conditions in the credit markets.
In a statement, the company said it was still reviewing its options and a ‘take-private’ deal led by 81% shareholder and chairman Adrian Williams could still happen through a revised financial structure.
DM appointed Altium Capital earlier this year to look at strategic options available to maximise shareholder value, including bolt-on acquisitions or a sale of the business.
Elsewhere, the company said it was confident that it would be robust and relatively unaffected by an economic slowdown.
