Catalytic Solutions wins contract for Honda’s Acura TSX
22 July 2008
Catalytic Solutions, the American engineering group that makes catalysts for cars, has won a contract to supply its Mixed Phase Catalyst technology for the 2009 Acura TSX, which is made by Honda.
Catalyst Solutions already supplies the systems for the Honda Accord. The second generation TSX, with improved fuel economy and lower emissions, began selling in April 2008.
The company said that with petrol prices on the rise, Honda considered an increase in fuel economy equally important as the gain in performance.
Catalytic Solutions' catalysts, which use MPC technology, play a part in the overall reduction in exhaust emissions, enabling Honda and other car makers to meet ultra-low emission vehicle standards, it said
Catalytic Solutions and Honda have worked together since 2000, with the first catalysts supplied in 2001 for Honda's light-duty petrol vehicles.
