CareTech buys specialist support group

CareTech, the UK provider of learning disability care services, has acquired Community Support Project Ltd, together with its subsidiary One-Step (Support) Ltd and certain freehold and associated long leasehold properties for a total consideration of £11 million.
The One-Step business provides an innovative approach to specialist support and accommodation services for adults who do not require full time residential care. The vendor has been responsible for significant expansion of the business in recent years and has been retained to further develop the business across the remainder of the CareTech network.
Farouq Sheikh, executive chairman of CareTech, said: “We are delighted to complete the acquisition; our fourth acquisition since flotation, and bringing our client capacity to over 1,000. The One-Step services are of exceptional quality and offer a good fit with CareTech's strategic objective to further develop supported living services to complement our established residential care services.”
