Braemar Seascope trading in line with expectations

21 June 2006

Alan Marsh, CEO of Braemar Seascope Group was in bullish mood when he gave a first quarter update at the Company's AGM today.

Marsh said that shipbroking activity levels continue to be good, particularly in deep sea tanker chartering, specialised product and small tanker chartering - despite the weaker US dollar. Exploration activity stimulated by the high oil price has also benefited the offshore market.

Sale and purchase activity has also begun well, with an emphasis on newbuilding business which has maintained the forward order book close to a record high level.

Other divisions, Wavespec, Cory Brothers, DV Howells and the Australian bunker business are all performing well.
