Braemar Seascope adds Hi-Bar to its DV Howells business

29 September 2006

Braemar Seascope Group plc has continued its quiet pursuit of suitable infill acquisitions through the purchase for £125,000 cash plus a further £225,000 over 24 months, of Hi-Bar by its wholly-owned subsidiary company, DV Howells
Limited.

Hi-Bar is an environmental services business operating in the same field as DV Howells from premises near Gatwick. It has 3 employees and has built up a strong reputation giving advice and consultancy to a number of the Oil Majors.

DV Howells, itself only acquired by Braemar Seascope in March 2006, provides environmental services primarily for the marine sector but also to the rail network, police forces, the Ministry of Defence and others. It has 27
employees based in the UK at offices in Milford Haven, Stansted, Rotherham, Huddersfield, Falmouth, Didcot and Perth.

Braemar Seascope said that the addition of Hi-Bar completes DV Howells’ UK incident response coverage by adding a base in the important south eastern sector, spanning the Greater London region with the Stansted base in the North.

Quentin Soanes, Business Development Director of Braemar Seascope Group plc, commented:

"We are delighted to be bringing Hi-Bar and DV Howells together, the two companies are a natural fit and marks a very positive step in building up an environmental services arm within a broadly-based shipping services group."
