Bglobal wins £3m Opus Energy contract
19 March 2008
Bglobal, the smart metering and energy data services company, has been awarded a contract to deliver meter and data services to Opus Energy. The £3 million deal will see Opus Energy continue to fulfil its commitment to become the first energy company in the UK to offer smart meters free to all its customers.
The contract is for the delivery of electricity smart metering, remote data collection, meter operations and the provision of energy management software to Opus Energy's customers. Opus Energy is planning a fast roll-out of the service with the first batch of 5,000 being installed now.
Tony Stiff, commercial director at Bglobal, said the contract provided further endorsement of the financial benefits and associated environmental advantages of using smart meters.
