AorTech signs Elast-Eon licensing deal with InnerPulse

AorTech, the biomaterials and medical device development company, has signed a non-exclusive licence with US-based InnerPulse.
The move will see InnerPulse use AorTech's biostable polyurethane material, Elast-Eon, in implantable cardiac rhythm management device applications.
InnerPulse is a privately held developer of a novel platform of pre-clinical stage implantable cardiac defibrillators and cardiac pacemakers. It has selected Elast-Eon as the optimal coating material for the PICD, its first generation implantable defibrillator device.
In return, InnerPulse will provide AorTech with milestone and volume based payments. AorTech said revenues would be modest in the short term, but were expected to increase significantly as the InnerPulse product platform completes testing and is commercialised globally.
