06 November 2009
African Eagle Resources, the mining group that runs the flagship Dutwa nickel project in Tanzania has reported the first assay results from its 2009 drilling programme.
The initial aaim of the drilling programme was to define the margins of the Wamangola Hill Deposit at Dutwa. Assays have been received from the first 17 of approximately 120 planned holes, and the results are believed to be in line with expectations.
Exploration work at the nearby Ngasamo Hill deposit has also confirmed more nickel-bearing areas, triggering a move by African Eagle to take up its option to earn an interest in the project.
Separately, African Eagle has appointed Snowden Mining Industry Consultants to conduct the deposit modelling and Drum Resources to carry out the logistics study in order to get its feasibility study under way.
