African Diamonds wins second new tranche of ground in Botswana

Wednesday, October 31, 2007

African Diamonds, the AIM and Botswana listed diamond explorer, has been awarded three new Prospecting Licenses close to the Orapa region of Botswana.

African said that its experts believed that the region of Kedia was prospective for diamonds. It noted that Kimberlitic indicators, mostly garnets (and some ilmenites), were recovered during exploration by earlier explorers. Some of the garnets were G9 and G2, indicating a source not too far away – although their presence has never been explained.

Chairman John Teeling, said: “We have stated publicly that, in our view, Botswana is the best diamond exploration address in the world and that Orapa is the best street. Well, African Diamonds now holds over 3000 sq. kms of ground not in the best street but not far from it.”

The license awards were made to African’s subsidiary company Kukama Mining & Exploration Pty Ltd.
