AFC to delay delivery of fuel cells to Akzo-Nobel

AFC Energy is set to delay the delivery of fuel cells to its client Akzo-Nobel following discussions with the pharmaceuticals group.
AFC said that although the individual fuel cells were operating well, there was further work required to enhance the overall output of the combined system. The company added that it was currently undertaking this work, and that delivery was expected to commence once it was completed.
Shipments of fuel cells to Akzo’s Bitterfield site in Germany started in late August.
AFC chief executive Gerard Sauer commented: “Our staff are working closely with Akzo-Nobel, and we have completed the preparatory work at the Bitterfeld site in anticipation of delivery and installation.”
